Course
With a postgraduate diploma in conservation and restoration of painted works from the École Supérieure d'Art d'Avignon, and accreditation from the Direction des Musées de France, my career as a conservator-restorer of painted works began at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam in 2003. Since 2004, I have been specializing in modern and contemporary works in France.
I work as a freelance conservator, meeting the conservation-restoration needs of works belonging to private collectors, museums, foundations or artists.
Since 2005, the MNAM Centre Pompidou has regularly asked me to carry out conservation-restoration work on its painted works, as well as condition assessments. I have been entrusted with several projects involving large- and very large-format paintings by Pablo Picasso, Robert Delaunay, Hervé Di Rosa, Gérard Fromanger and others.
As a professor of painting techniques at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris since 2011, I work with and advise both emerging and established artists. I also teach at the Sorbonne and speak at symposiums and conferences.
These different experiences dedicated to works of the 20th and 21st centuries sometimes lead me to join forces with colleagues with whom we work together on large-scale projects.
I also train teams, manage schedules and organize the various stages of conservation-restoration. For several years now, I've been responsible for a number of consortia, some of them on a large scale - notably for the Centre Pompidou, with a team of 38 multi-specialist conservators-restorers for condition assessments, maintenance of collections and temporary exhibitions, and transport, and for the Musée National Picasso-Paris for conservation-restoration, health monitoring and transport of painted works.
